About the Faculty

Mission

The Faculty of Engineering and Sciences seeks to train engineers who will play a leading role in creating value in our society, engineers who stand out for their entrepreneurial spirit, with an exceptional ability to solve problems, as well as design, manage and implement highly complex projects with scientific and technological rigor.
In addition, the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences aims to offer graduate engineering programs in the areas of greatest impact for the country's development. In terms of knowledge generation, one of the objectives of the Faculty is to generate research projects in sciences and engineering of the highest international standards on issues that are crucial for society, working with companies to transfer technology and knowledge that increase the productivity of the chilean economy.

Engineering 2030

The New Engineering 2030 program supported by CORFO seeks to implement a long-term strategy that manages to transform the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences into a world-class engineering school that contributes to making Chile a developed country that bases its economy on generating new knowledge based on science, technology transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Faculty won one of five national funds via a nation-wide competitive process.

Institutional Improvement Plan (IIP)

The Institutional Improvement Plan of the UAI seeks to implement a model of world-class training with a focus on engineering, thereby ensuring their students develop skills that allow them to function successfully in a complex and interconnected world. Also, by means of the IIP we hope to contribute to the positioning of our country as a leader in engineering.

Educational Model

Engineering will never be the same. The Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez has changed the way we learn, know about and reflect on society. The Faculty seeks to create global engineers with an innovative and multicultural spirit who will become change agents for the country and for the world.
The Faculty of Engineering and Sciences offers seven Engineering degrees, recognized as those with the greatest potential in terms of employment opportunities. The academic program has 11 minors in different areas of technological specialization, applied workshops and comprehensive training courses. In the last year of the degree, students can opt to do a work internship, a senior thesis, or an entrepreneurial venture, as well as pursue options for receiving double-degrees, or going on to Master's or doctorate degrees.
The teaching model of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences combines rigorous training in mathematics and science with applied workshops that tackle the latest challenges of modern engineering and demonstrate how engineering is taught at the best universities in the world.
