Complexity Center

This is an multidisciplinary center that integrates analytical methodologies from different fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biology and Social Sciences, in order to model and solve complex engineering problems, relevant to today's society; complex systems, gene regulation networks, modeling of social systems, physical and mathematical models, dynamics and complexity of cellular automata.

Research Lines

Nonlinear Physics

Almost all real systems are nonlinear. This reseach area involves theory of fractals, chaos, pattern formation, cellular automata and complex systems.

Bose-Einstein condensates

A Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) is a state of matter of a dilute gas of bosons cooled to temperatures very close to absolute zero (that is, very near 0 K or −273.15 °C).

Wave turbulence

In continuum mechanics, wave turbulence is a set of nonlinear waves deviated far from thermal equilibrium, usually accompanied by dissipation, where it is either decaying turbulence or requires an external source of energy to sustain it.

Discrete systems applied to the Society

By itself, the integration of mathematical modeling in social analysis it is a clear innovation. From this area, it seeks to model phenomenon like crisis in discrete interaction networks.
